Did you know that...
The Salm Palace is one of the buildings of the National Gallery Prague. Built in the early 19th century for the Salm family, this elegant palace is defined by its restrained Neoclassical design and harmonious façade, which blends sensitively with the historic surroundings just steps away from Prague Castle. The palace houses the permanent exhibition Art of Asia Across Space and Time, showcasing the richness and diversity of Asian cultures from antiquity to the present day. The collection brings together works from East, Southeast, and South Asia, offering insight into a wide range of artistic traditions, from Buddhist art to painting, calligraphy, sculpture, and decorative arts. The exhibition highlights the cultural and spiritual connections that link different regions and centuries, placing non-European art within a broader historical and global context. Salm Palace thus pairs refined Neoclassical architecture with an exceptional collection of Asian art, providing a calm and contemplative setting for exploring cultures across continents.
With the Prague Visitor Pass, admission to the permanent exhibitions is free of charge. Please note that the pass does not cover short-term or temporary exhibitions.
