Did you know that...
The Old New Synagogue is located next to the Jewish Museum in Prague and is a particularly important part of the 13th Century sightseeing circuit. It is one of the rarest synagogues in the world. This building, administered by the Jewish Community in Prague, is unique in the extent of its stone decoration and interior furnishings and has served as the main synagogue for Prague’s Jews for more than 700 years.
According to legend, angels turned into doves saved it from destructive fires with their wings. Another legend claims that the remains of the Golem, an artificial being created and brought to life by Rabbi Löw, were deposited on its grounds.
